LAUREL, Miss. (WDAM) – Emergency crews were called to a car crash in Laurel Friday morning involving an 18-wheeler.

According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation, the crash occurred on Interstate 59 at 16th Avenue South Exit 95A around 9:30 a.m.

Laurel Fire Chief Leo Brown said two fire truck companies responded to the crash.

Brown said the 18-wheeler hit the guardrail due to possible hydroplaning, causing the collision. One of the vehicles involved in the incident had a broken diesel tank. The chief said sand was called in to clean up the fuel leak.

No injuries were reported, according to Brown.
