BRS has no right to criticize Cong.: Bhatti

Suryapet: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said that the BRS had not increased the dietary and cosmetic fees for institutionalized students during its 10-year rule and had no moral right to criticize the Congress government on students’ welfare.

Laying the foundation stone of the Young India Integrated Residential School complex at Gaddipally, Garidepally mandal, Bhatti mentioned that the new schools will transform the education system by providing quality education to economically disadvantaged students of all categories.

The last time dietary and cosmetic fees were increased was in 2007 by the then Congress government. The Revanth Reddy government recently increased per diem fees by 40 per cent, benefiting 7.5 lakh students across the state.

He stressed that the state government is committed to investing all necessary resources to provide students with quality education and shape their future.

Bhatti said BRS’s policies had landed Telangana in debt of Rs 7 lakh crore. He said that the Congress government was implementing welfare programs despite financial constraints and strongly condemned the BRS for mudslinging the state government.

He mentioned that the state government had allocated Rs 5,000 crore for setting up integrated boarding schools. An architect known for designing international school buildings was engaged to finalize the designs for these schools. Additionally, staff housing will be built on the premises of integrated boarding schools, he added.
