Former President Bill Clinton in Augusta campaigning for Harris-Waltz ahead of Election Day

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) –Today, the former president of Augusta spoke on behalf of the Harris-Waltz campaign ahead of the November 5 election.

Former President Bill Clinton was in Augusta tonight and talked to Augustine about why he thinks Vice President Kamala Harris is the best choice to be our next president.

Clinton spoke out on issues such as keeping food and housing prices low and maintaining current insulin doses, saying, “Don’t vote against Kamala Harris because you haven’t felt the weight of what she’s doing.” She says she is against inflation.

“The one thing we should not gamble with is the health and well-being of the American people and their future,” former President Bill Clinton said.

Jordan Johnson, chairman of the Richmond County Democratic Party, may have opened the event by expressing support for Harris. He believes this is what the community needs to vote on Tuesday. He believes Augusta could have a decisive impact on turnout in Georgia’s elections on Election Day.

“People are excited about this election because they understand what’s at stake,” said Jordan Johnson, chairman of the Richmond County Democratic Party. “So it’s one thing to get excited about going to vote, but it’s another thing to actually show up. It’s great that people are excited. The energy was in the room, but we need to translate it into action.

Augusta residents were happy that Clinton came here and campaigned here to motivate voters to continue campaigning and get more people to the polls on Tuesday.

“That motivated us to knock on doors and call people I know who may not have voted and who may be undecided.” Said Lonzo Smith, voter. “If I have to take them to the poles, if I have to nudge them and make them realize that this is a kind of look back in time, not only for today but for the future.”
