‘Days of Our Lives’ star Wayne Northrop dies at the age of 77

(Gray News) – Wayne Northrop, known for his roles in “Days of Our Lives” and “Dynasty,” has died.

Northrop died on November 29 at the Motion Picture and Television Woodland Hills Home in Los Angeles, according to the statement. People. He was 77 years old.

According to People magazine, Northrop was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease six years ago.

His wife, Lynn Herring Northrop, said in a statement that he died “in the arms of his family.”

Northrop is best known for playing Detective Roman Brady on “Days of Our Lives” from 1981 to 1984 and again from 1991 to 1994. According to People, he appeared in over 1,000 episodes of the series.

Northrop also appeared as Michael Culhane on “Dynasty” and Rex Stanton on “Port Charles.”

In addition to acting, Northrop and his wife have been a cattle rancher in Raymond, California for the past 35 years.

“Wayne touched many people with his sense of humor and wit,” Lynn Herring Northrop said in a statement. “A husband of 43 years, the best dad ever to his two sons, Hank and Grady, and a farmer who loved his cows and was a friend to many.”

Northrop left behind a wife and two sons.
