Armed attackers storm Faisalabad police station, kill detainees, including three brothers

Three brothers were killed and a cousin injured when unidentified armed assailants stormed a police station in Faisalabad early Monday morning, police said.

The attack took place at the Saddar police station in Tandlaianwala, where detainees in connection with a murder case were being held.

The victims, Bilal, Usman and Nasir, have been detained for their alleged involvement in the case filed under Section 302, police sources confirmed.

According to reports, the attackers used a ladder to climb to the back of the station and locked the officers on duty in rooms before opening fire on the detainees.

The fourth detainee, identified as Asif, sustained injuries in the attack.

The victims belonged to the Sukhera clan and were accused of killing members of the rival Kharal clan.

Authorities transferred them to Saddar Police Station for security reasons amid an ongoing dispute between the groups.

Police detained six suspects in connection with the attack, and initial investigations revealed that the motive was long-standing hostility.

After the shooting, the attackers managed to escape from the scene, causing local law enforcement agencies to try to secure the area.

Following the attack, senior police officials, including an officer of Faisalabad City Police, rushed to the spot. A spokesman for the Punjab Police said that investigation teams and CIA units are actively searching for clues leading to the arrest of the perpetrators.

Two brothers shot “for honor”

There were two brothers shot in an alleged honor killing on Friday evening in Haripur.

According to the police, the incident took place in Sara-i-Naimat Khan, where the attackers, allegedly motivated by family resentment over a love marriage, opened fire, killing the siblings on the spot.

The victims, identified as Azam and Zulfiqar, were residents of Kundal.

Sources revealed that tensions had been building for over a month since one of the brothers married a woman of his choice against the wishes of her family.

Police said the previous confrontation involved gunfire from the bride’s family.

A case of abduction of the murdered brothers was earlier registered by the woman’s family at the local police station.

However, reconciliation was achieved through the intervention of local elders and law enforcement.

On the night of the attack, eyewitnesses reported that the brothers were returning home on a motorcycle when unidentified gunmen attacked them.

The bodies were taken to hospital for autopsy and then handed over to their family for burial in their native village.
