Lewis, who is from Denton, Texas, is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reportedly spoke to Lewis about his alleged messages for the first time on Wednesday. The messages in question were sent to Clark via X, formerly known as Twitter, from December 16 to January 2.

“I drove around your house 3 times a day,” reads one of the alleged messages. “But don’t call law enforcement yet, the public can drive over the Gainbridge Bridge…aka Caitlin’s Fieldhouse.”

NPR It said the messages, many of them sexually explicit, disturbed Clark so much that she “changed her public appearance and the way she moved out of fear for her safety.”

After discovering that some of the social media messages were sent from a location in Indianapolis, the FBI became interested in the case.

Even after taking certain actions, including banning Lewis from the basketball court where Clark plays, police said Lewis continued to harass the athlete.

Lewis was charged with fifth-degree stalking, which carries a possible sentence of one to six years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
