SJ officers survived the attack, alleged attackers in custody

Less than a week after two officers in the ordinary matter survived a hail of shells from a passing car in the East San Jose district, the police arrested four men on charges of murder attempts.

Two special operations officers were not injured after giving the fire in a seemingly unpired incident.

Four suspects – Edward Ruiz, 21 years old, Emilio Macias, 22, Robert Cesena, 37, from San Jose and Gabriel Olmos, 21 years old, Santa Clara – were arrested on Thursday and Saturday without incidents, the police said.

On January 20 at 22:38, two officers from Plain -Clothes were detained with a red light in an unmarked police vehicle at the intersection of McLaughlin Avenue and McLaughlin Court near the evergreen East San Jose district near the evergreen, the police said.

The officers said that they were confronted by four unknown suspects in the vehicle who indicated that they were armed and seemed to provoke confrontation. After the suspects and officers continued outside the intersection, the officers stopped and parked their vehicle along the intersection of Melbourne Boulevard and McLaughlin Avenue.

During the radio for uniformed officers for response and help, the vehicle of suspects suddenly twisted and went towards the officers.

According to the police report, at least one suspect opened fire, hitting an unmarked police vehicle.

When one officer left the vehicle and gave the fire, the vehicle of suspects escaped from the scene at high speed. The police said that the officers’ vehicle was affected by so many fire that he was disabled and could not safely chase the suspects.

Detectives from killings began a comprehensive investigation and quickly identified a possible suspicious vehicle and developed several potential customers.

On January 23, the detectives identified four adult suspicious men responsible for the attack – Edward Ruiz, Gabriel Olmos, Robert Cesena and Emilio Macias – and obtained arrest warrant for all four suspects, as well as an order to search for their related residences.

On the same day, Olmos was arrested in the city of Merced, Cesena was arrested in the city of San José, and Macias was arrested in the city of San Francisco. All suspects were transported to the main prison of Santa Clara and reserved for many crimes, including a murder attempt.

Two days later, on January 25, Ruiz was arrested in Gilroy and reserved in the main prison of Santa Clara, for many crimes, including an attempt to murder.

“Last week I said that everyone would be responsible for this violent act of violence, and I was based on my word,” said police head Paul Joseph in a statement. “Thanks to fast activities and around the clock. The investigation efforts of our detectives from the killings and our detectives of gang investigations and officers of special operations who tirelessly worked on this matter, we now have suspected in detention, waiting for their fate from the justice system. We do not slightly violence using weapons, especially when it involves an assault on our officers. “

“These suspects tried to take their lives and now they lost their freedom,” said Mayor San José Matt Mahan. “I am grateful to our Police Department for proved that the consequences in San José come with crime.”

“The security of our officers and our community is a priority,” said the head of the city of Jennifer Maguire. “I am grateful that our police department worked quickly to identify and arrest those suspects so that they no longer threaten our community or officers.”
