Hotel employee to appear in court for allegedly gaining a financial advantage

A 51-year-old hotel employee from Sigatoka was accused of gaining a financial advantage and will appear today in Sigatoka Magistrates.

The police say that the allegedly dishonest person obtained $ 100 via the Mobile Money platform.

They say that investigations reveal that on August 21 last year the victim accepted the invitation to friends on Facebook from someone named Victoria Nice.

They continue to say that the victim later received information that the investment of $ 100 will return a profit of USD 3500.

They add it convinced by the offer, the victim sent the money to the delivered mobile account, which was later traced to a person who withdrew the funds in Sigatoka.

The case was reported at the Navua police station.

The person stays in custody.
