KNOXVILLE POLICE ARTREST MAN in connection with shooting near the city center

Knoxville, tenn. (WVLT)-Police Department in Knoxville arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with the shooting on Monday.

Scott Erland from KPD said that the officers were called just before 18:30 to shoot in 1100 Lula Powell Drive block.

When the officers arrived, they found a 42-year-old man with a small shot, said Erland and was transported to a local hospital.

Erland said that the officers were able to quickly locate the suspect from the shooting, later identified as 35-year-old Herrera Johnson, for 957 E. Hill Avenue.

The officers said Johnson seemed intoxicated and was found in the possession of a gun and what according to the police is Fentanyl.

Johnson confessed to the shooting of the victim and was accused of assaulting, having firearms with the intention of armed, drugs from schedule II and public poisoning.
