Family of four, woman killed in wrong-way crash in Fort Worth

A family of four and an engaged woman were killed in a wrong-way crash on Northwest Loop 820 near Marine Creek Lake early Sunday morning.

The accident occurred around 3:30 a.m

Fort Worth police say a Ford Focus carrying a father, mother and their two children was traveling the wrong way on Loop 820 when it collided with another vehicle.

The Ford Focus caught fire, killing all four people inside.

There was a man and his fiancée in the truck. The fiancée was murdered.

The man was taken to hospital and is expected to survive.

“It’s terrible. Many people are affected by this. And again I woke up to the call I received this morning regarding this matter. It’s just very, very sad. “We’re praying for everyone, for everyone involved,” said Fort Worth Police Officer Tracy Carter.

Police did not provide the ages or names of the victims.

It is unclear why the Ford Focus was traveling in the wrong direction.

Officers continue to investigate the crash.
