A couple died of suffocation after a house fire in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A man and his wife died of suffocation and another family member was injured in a fire accident after firecrackers stored in their home ignited, police said Tuesday.

The incident took place late on Monday evening when they were preparing food for Diwali when sparks from the gas stove fell on the cracker box, which burst and smoke entered the two-room house, due to which the couple died of suffocation, they said. based on preliminary examination.

Another girl in the house was hospitalized for suffocation and her condition is said to be serious, said a police officer from the Rein Bazar police station. The deceased were in their 50s, officials said. Further investigation is ongoing.
