Indiana State Police say a man was killed in an ATV crash in St. Petersburg on Monday evening

A man died Monday evening in Petersburg, Indiana, after the all-terrain vehicle he was driving hit a ditch on a rural stretch of road in Pike County.

Indiana State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash. The agency identified the victim as 73-year-old Gerald Russell.

According to a press release from State Police, the incident occurred Monday around 11:20 p.m. near the intersection of Cart Road and County Road 250 West. State police said Russell was driving a “Honda four-wheeler.”

“For unknown reasons, his vehicle left the road on the north side, hit a ditch and overturned several times,” the statement reads.

The Pike County Coroner’s Office pronounced Russell dead at the scene. An investigation by the ISP is ongoing.
