Shooting at a hotel in Florida, a person was injured

AND the person was shot Tuesday morning at the Baymont Hotel in Daytona Beach, according to police.

Daytona Beach police said in a social media post just before 10:30 a.m. that the shooting occurred at a hotel at 2725 W. International Speedway Blvd.

No details about the incident were immediately available, but police said the gunshot victim was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center for treatment.

Police said the shooting is under investigation and additional details will be released as they become available.
