A rising star of Italian skiing Matilda Lorenzi died as a result of injuries sustained during training. She was 19 years old.

Lorenzi found success in skiing after competing in last year’s Junior World Alpine Ski Championships, where she placed sixth in the downhill and eighth in the super-G.
