Two sexual assaults reported in TCU dorms – police issue alert

Texas Christian University has issued a warning after two cases of sexual assault were reported in campus residence halls in recent weeks.

Campus police issued a security bulletin following two reports, one over the weekend and the other about three weeks ago.

In the first case, a third party reported that a student had suffered sexual assault by a guest visiting another student. TCU police say the incident occurred about three weeks ago in an on-campus residence hall.

The second incident involved a TCU student who was reportedly attacked by another TCU student in a residence hall during homecoming weekend.

The safety alert reminded students of safety practices, including intoxicated consent guidelines, and emphasized that “no means no.”

TCU PD said it is cooperating with state and federal agencies in the ongoing investigation.

Students are encouraged to download the “FrogShield” app, which provides direct access to campus police, and take advantage of the free “Froggie 5-0” campus escort service.
