The best NFL bets for Week 17

Drew Lock over 186.5 passing yards (-115) – BetMGM

Christian Watson over 47.5 yards (-113) – Caesars

Bucky Irving over 77.5 rushing yards (-110) – bet365

Jake Ferguson over 0.5 touchdowns anytime (+310) – FanDuel

Drew Lock over 186.5 passing yards (-115)

Where: BetMGM Sportsbook

Why: Since taking over as New York’s starting signal caller, Drew Lock has been unable to lead the Giants to victory. The departure of Daniel Jones and the ineffectiveness of Tommy DeVito made Lock the default starter in the Big Apple. That said, Lock remains the most talented quarterback on the Giants’ roster and throws to a capable stable of receivers.

The offensive game plan didn’t shy away from giving Lock plenty of opportunities to throw the ball. Over the last two weeks, Lock leads the league with an average of 44 pass attempts per game. Furthermore, he checked his passing stats in each of these contests, averaging 218.5 passing yards in those games.

He will face a Colts defense that has allowed the 11th most passing yards (3,596) on the season. Over the last five games, the Colts are averaging 214.6 passing yards, holding only one opponent to fewer than 184 yards.

Indianapolis has allowed opposing quarterbacks to exceed 186.5 passing yards in three of the last four games.

Christian Watson over 47.5 yards (-113)

Where: Caesar Sports Betting

Why: Christian Watson emerged in the second half of the season as one of Jordan Love’s most reliable and consistent targets. He led the team in goals in three of the last four weeks, during which he played a full game. In the last six games, Watson has scored 25 goals, the most on the team.

Watson has passed for 47.5 yards in four of his last six games. The two in which he finished below that total were the result of leaving that event early due to injury.

He stands in front of the Vikings defense, which is struggling to contain the opposing wingers. Over the last four weeks, Minnesota has given up 775 yards to wide receivers, the second-most in the league over that span. The team allowed a league-high 190 receiving yards per game.

Watson has cited his receiving yards in six of the last eight games.

Bucky Irving over 77.5 rushing yards (-110)

Where: Bet365 sports betting

Why: Bucky Irving didn’t start the season as Tampa Bay’s RB1, but the rookie’s play over the last few weeks of the season saw him snatch the job from Rachaad White. While both running backs play significant roles in the Buccaneers’ game plan, Irving himself appears to be the more productive of the two.

Irving has topped 77.5 rushing yards only four times this season, but three of those games have come in the last five weeks. In one of the five, Irving left the game after just three touches due to injury. He has seen at least 12 carries in five of the last six weeks.

Irving faces a Carolina Panthers defense that has allowed the most yards to running backs this season (2,116). Over the past four weeks, the Panthers have given up an average of 173 rushing yards to running backs.

Irving has shot over the ball in 12 of 15 games this season.

Jake Ferguson over 0.5 tries at any time (+310)

Where: FanDuel Sportsbook

Why: Jake Ferguson’s 2024 season didn’t go exactly as he planned, but with the recent news of CeeDee Lamb being sidelined for the remainder of the season, the third-year tight end should see an increase in targets compared to the Eagles. Last week, Ferguson scored nine times in the passing game, his highest total since Week 9.

Players on The best bookmakers in Pennsylvania I’m placing a touchdown bet anytime for Ferguson, who hasn’t seen any hits this year, but that’s sure to change given his performance a season ago. In 2023, only six tight ends finished the season with more touchdown catches than Ferguson (5). He finished the campaign on a high note, scoring three touchdowns in Dallas’ playoff loss to the Packers.

The Eagles have struggled to control opposing tight ends lately, allowing four of the league’s top tight ends to score touchdowns at the position over the last five weeks. Opposing touchdowns against Philadelphia have been over 0.5 at any point in four of the last six weeks.

Ferguson has topped 0.5 touchdowns at any time against the Eagles in two of his five games against Philadelphia.
