Pedestrian killed in accident in Woodcroft: EPS

An 85-year-old man is dead and the police are looking for witnesses to the accident in which he died.

Edmonton police said the man was struck by a car while crossing 114 Avenue near 135 Street in a wheelchair on Oct. 21 around 2 p.m.

The driver was traveling east on the avenue when they hit the man, knocking him from his wheelchair.

The man suffered serious injuries. He was taken to hospital, where he died on Monday.

No information was released about the driver, but officers said the man remained at the scene.

Police have not yet said whether disability, speed or blinding sunlight were factors in the crash.

Officers are looking for witnesses or recordings from car cameras. Anyone with information should contact police at 780-423-4567.
