METRORail collides with vehicle in north Houston, several people injured

A METRORail train collided with a car in the north on Wednesday morning Houston leaving several people injured.

According to METRO officials, at approximately 8:30 a.m. in the 7400 block of Fulton Street, a southbound METRORail train on the Red Line struck a vehicle, causing minor injuries to three train passengers.

Houston Fire Department personnel had to remove the driver from the vehicle, who was taken to HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest with unknown injuries.

The collision affected both rail tracks and the METRORail service between Melbourne and Northline Transit Center was temporarily suspended. METRO provided passengers with bus services on the affected route.
