Many schools close after swatting incidents.

ANSONIA, Conn. (WFSB) – Multiple school districts across the state received unbelievable threats on Wednesday.

Ansonia High School was placed on lockdown due to a “swatting” call Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.

Police responded to a report of an armed suspect at the high school on Pulaski Highway 20.

All schools were deemed safe and no threats were identified.

According to Ansonia’s superintendent, the lockdown has been lifted and schools will close on their normal schedule.

Naugatuck High School was placed on lockdown following an incredible threat from a gunman outside the school at 543 Rubber Avenue.

Police received information from the Veterans Hotline.

Police say the origin of the call is still under investigation and there is no threat to the community.

Restrictions were lifted and schools resumed normal operations.

Southbury police also again received a threat from a third party against the high school, which resulted in it being closed down while authorities investigated.

At 10:25 a.m., police were able to clear the building and found no credible threats.

The quarantine was lifted and students returned to classes.

Police were able to confirm that the threat originated from out of state and was linked to a pattern of other swatting attacks.

Additional police will be on site to alleviate the fears and concerns of students, parents and staff.

If any student needs support, school counselors and social workers are available in all schools.

Watertown High School is currently on lockdown, but no threat has been identified, police say.

No shooter was located.

According to the police, the restrictions should be lifted soon.
