Man’s body found in Mymensingh

Police found the body of a man in a paddy field in Tarakanda upazila of Mymensingh this morning.

The victim was identified as Arifur Rahman, 45, a resident of Raiganj upazila of Laxmipur.

Tipu Sultan, in-charge of Tarakanda police station, said the body was found lying in a field and the police were informed. After receiving this information, the police found the body, which was identified by the Police Investigation Bureau using modern technologies.

The body was taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.

Initial findings indicate that the man was murdered and his body was dumped in the area.

A case has been lodged at the Tarakanda Police Station, but no arrests have been made so far.
