One pedestrian is dead and another injured in separate crashes in Calgary

A man is dead and a woman is in serious condition after two recent collisions with pedestrians in Calgary.

Police say a 50-year-old man was riding his scooter in a parking lot on Saturday when he was hit by an SUV.

The man died in hospital on Tuesday.

Also on Tuesday, police said a 20-year-old woman was walking her dog when she was hit by an SUV in a crosswalk.

They say the woman is in hospital with life-changing injuries and her dog was injured but was able to return home.

Speed, drugs and alcohol are not factors in any accident.
