Covington schools are selling used buses and other vehicles in an upcoming online auction

COVINGTON COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) – The Covington County School District is selling off nearly three dozen used school buses and other older vehicles.

Thirty-one older buses are participating in an online auction starting next week on govdeals.com.

This auction will also feature several small delivery vans and an old ambulance.

The CCSD organization said it had to sell the vehicles to make room for the newly purchased buses.

District officials said they hoped to earn $30,000 from the auction.

“We have marked these buses in a variety of ways, from good condition, meaning buses that were on the school route last year (and) can be revved up and out of the parking lot today, to okay,” said Brad Skeen, chief operating officer of the county school district Covington.

“If you have some mechanical skills, you can take some things (vehicles in good condition) and make them work as well, and then we have some that just don’t work, so they’re in poor condition. So these prices will vary.”

The auction runs from November 4 to November 15.
