The director of a hospital in Bangkok criticized the suicide of a pharmacist

Yesterday, October 30, Esor News shared screenshots of a conversation between a hospital manager named Aof and a pharmacist named Moomin. The page contained some of the Moomins suicide note in the title.

“Aof, I have to make this decision and leave everyone I love because I wasn’t lucky enough to meet a manager like you. You never listened to me and decided to pressure people to leave.

The website states that Moominek was a pharmacist at ul Rama 9 Hospital in the Rama 9 district of Bangkok. He tragically ended his life in his carleaving a farewell letter to family and colleagues. In his letter, he clearly stated that he believed the main reason was a toxic relationship with his supervisor.

During the conversation, Aof’s manager suggested that Moomintroll should step down if he was not satisfied with his job at the hospital. Aof also criticized Moomintroll’s appearance in a group chat for medical staff instead of dealing with the matter privately.

In one of the conversations, Aof suggested Moomin move to another team to avoid working with him if he felt under excessive pressure. aof wrote…

“Are you interested in working in a medicine warehouse? This way you won’t have to feel uncomfortable working with me.”

The hospital says

Many netizens agreed that Aof put undue pressure on Moomintroll to resign from the hospital. They also noted that no manager should criticize a team member in a group chat, rather such matters should be discussed privately.

Others felt that Aof was really trying to find a more suitable role for Moomintroll. They argued that Aofa’s words did not seem harsh or threatening.

Following the online controversy, Rama 9 Hospital expressed its condolences to Moomin’s family today, October 31, and promised to investigate the toxic work environment described in Moomin’s letter.

The hospital assured Moomintroll’s family that it would provide support and assistance if needed. He also appealed to all services for cooperation empathypromoting it as a core organizational value.

Moomintroll’s older sister shared on her Facebook account what he suffered from depression. The family, the hospital management and Moomintroll himself had previously discussed the problems he was struggling with. Moomintroll loved his career and organization very much, so he refused to resign and continued working to prove his worth.

The sister stated that the manager had already learned an important lesson and the family did not want to complicate matters even further. She added that family members are also not prepared to give interviews to any media.

Moomin’s manager and other associates did not provide any information to the media.
