The South Bend Community School Corporation hosts the school’s annual showcase

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – The South Bend Community School Corporation hosted its annual school showcase on Wednesday.

It was a free, large open house where people could learn more about South Bend schools and their resources.

The event took place in the former Brown Community Learning Center gymnasium from 6 to 8 p.m.

Thanks to this, participants could become familiar with educational programs available for students from kindergarten to junior high school.

Throughout the event, participants received gifts and a free meal. People were able to shake hands and meet administrators, teachers and principals at several of their schools.

The district was also able to highlight some of its recent achievements, such as graduation rates, improved literacy outcomes at all grade levels and inclusive sports programs.

“We are very excited to have the opportunity to take a first-hand look at the school, meet with administrators, principals, learn about the schools’ individual programs and extracurricular opportunities,” said Andrew Goetz, director of communications for South Bend Schools. “It’s an opportunity for them, and we have a school here today from kindergarten through middle school, and people can come together and see what we have to offer, and it will be a great opportunity.”

Information evenings for eighth graders will be held in secondary schools in the coming weeks.

Information evenings for grades 8:

  • Adams High School: November 6 from 6-7:30 p.m
  • Washington High School: November 12 from 6-7:30 p.m
