Two teenage boys accused of ‘attacking and robbing’ a man and a woman in Edinburgh

Two teenage boys have been charged in connection with the alleged serious assault and robbery of a man and a woman on Monday.

A 50-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were on a pedestrian crossing at the junction of Leith Street and Princes Street in Edinburgh on October 28 at around 10pm when they were reportedly approached randomly by a group of people.

They were both injured and taken to the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh for treatment.

The suspects, believed to be aged between 14 and 20, fled towards St James Quarter and Multrees Walk.

In connection with the incident, the officers charged two 15-year-old boys. The investigation remains ongoing and detectives confirm they are following positive lines of inquiry.

Detective Sergeant Steven Gray said: “We would like to thank the many members of the public who have helped us with the investigation so far and we continue to appeal for information as the investigation continues.
