A High Springs man has died after a car crash in Alachua County

NEWBERRY, Fla. (WCJB) – A High Springs man is dead after a car crash that happened late Wednesday night.

According to Florida Highway Patrol troopers, a 59-year-old man was driving south on State Route 45 just after 11 p.m. when he hit a deer. After hitting the deer, the man ran off the road and the car overturned and hit a power pole.

The man was ejected from the car and the vehicle eventually came to rest on the west grass shoulder.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
