The victims of the fatal crash in Mangaweka included children and adults from Auckland

Police released the name of the child and adult who died around disaster in Mangaweka during the holiday road toll period.

They were Agambir Singh Dhanju, 2, and Sumeet Sumeet, 38, both from Auckland.

The couple died Dec. 29 in a two-car crash on State Highway 1.

Two other people, including a child, were airlifted to Wellington Hospital for treatment, one is critically injured and the other is in a serious condition.

A third person suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Palmerston North Hospital.
