DNCC public relations officer stabbed

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) public relations officer Mokbul Hossain was stabbed and seriously injured.

He was immediately rushed to the United Hospital in Gulshan, where he is currently admitted in the emergency department.

Eyewitnesses reported that Mokbul Hossain and several other officials of Dhaka North City were playing badminton at a temporary court set up at the old tax office office on Road 90. A person wearing a helmet came there and called Mokbul Hossain.

The man led Mokbul Hossain into the street and placed his hand on his shoulder. After a few moments, Mokbul Hossain was found injured and called for help. Others took him to the hospital.

Executive Magistrate Shahidul Islam said doctors initially provided medicines and treatment to stop the bleeding. Surgery will be performed on Wednesday morning to determine whether there are any serious wounds or severed blood vessels.

He has three stab wounds to his right arm, below his right elbow and to his chest.

Mohammad Masud Alam Siddique, secretary (additional chief executive), Dhaka North, said the matter had been reported to the Ministry of Local Government.

The executive director of Dhaka North City Zone-3 has been directed to take legal action at the police station.
