Five men attack Bedouna and Gulf National at the popular Salmiya restaurant

KUWAIT, Jan 9: The Hawalla Governorate’s Criminal Investigation Department has opened an investigation into an assault involving five unidentified persons who attacked a Bedouon and a Gulf national, injuring them. The case files included medical certificates documenting the injuries suffered by both victims.

A security source revealed that surveillance footage from the restaurant and nearby areas will be examined to uncover the motive behind the brawl, which involved seven people, and identify the perpetrators based on their vehicles.

According to initial reports, the incident began when a Bedouin born in 1992 and a Gulf national of the same age were having dinner at a well-known restaurant in Salmiya. They noticed the suspicious glances of a group of young men sitting at a nearby table. When they questioned the group about their behavior, five young men allegedly launched an unprovoked attack on them in front of other guests and restaurant staff.

The victims claimed that they did not retaliate during the attack but acted in self-defense. Authorities continue to investigate to determine the circumstances of the incident and arrest those responsible.
