Delhi: Policeman commits suicide in UP Bhawan, investigation initiated – Delhi News

Police said a jawan allegedly shot himself using his service weapon at the Uttar Pradesh (UP) Bhawan in New Delhi.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the jawan belonged to the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) of the Uttar Pradesh Police and was attached to the UP Bhawan security team.

“A PAC jawan died by suicide at UP Bhawan on Friday, January 10, and the case was lodged after further investigation was initiated into the incident,” a Delhi Police official said.

Earlier, in September 2024, in a similar incident, a Delhi Police commissioner allegedly shot himself dead at his house in the capital, with his family members claiming that he was suffering from depression.

Police said Vikas (38) allegedly died by suicide at his house in Police Colony in Jyoti Nagar area around midnight. According to a senior police officer, he had a gunshot wound to the head.
