A cyclist died after colliding with a vehicle on the highway. 26: OPP

Police confirmed this morning (January 10) that a 59-year-old cyclist died as a result of a Thursday evening collision

Local police have confirmed that a cyclist was killed last night following a collision on Highway 26 just after 7 p.m.

Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP, as well as Gray County paramedics, responded to a call regarding a serious cyclist-vehicle collision on Highway 26 between the Eleventh and Tenth lines in Thornbury on January 9.

Police confirmed that a 59-year-old cyclist died in a collision this morning (January 10).

The highway between Lines Eleven and Ten was closed for several hours while police and a collision reconstruction team investigated. According to an OPP press release, the driver of the vehicle cooperated with police.

The investigation is ongoing.
