According to the district, a loaded gun was found in the backpack of a Mt Healthy Jr/Sr High School student

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – According to the school district, Thursday, a student’s backpack at Mt. Healthy Jr/Sr High School found loaded gun.

In a message to families, Mt. Healthy City Schools explained that “standard procedure” was followed when staff saw what appeared to be two students passing vaping devices to each other.

“Per our standard procedure, both students were taken to a secure office where trained security personnel searched their bags,” the district told families.

According to Mt Healthy City Schools, a loaded gun was found in one of the students’ backpacks during a search.

Police in Mt. Healthy actually responded to remedy the situation. The school was not closed because there was no active threat, a district representative explained to families.

Mt Healthy City Schools did not say whether the student was arrested or not.
