A driver is in a serious condition in hospital after a four-vehicle collision on the A9 near Dunblane

A driver is in a serious condition in hospital after a four-vehicle collision on the A9 near Dunblane.

The accident occurred on Wednesday at around 4.40pm in a northbound carriage, about half a mile from the junction with the B8033 motorway.

The accident involved a red Hyundai i10, a white DAF truck, a red Kia Sportage and a white Volvo XC40.

Emergency services attended the scene and the 50-year-old driver of the Hyundai was taken to Ninewells Hospital.

Staff describe her condition as serious.

The road was closed for approximately two hours while on duty.

Sergeant Fraser Easton said: “We are continuing our investigation to establish the full circumstances. I am appealing to anyone who may have information or dash cam footage that could help to come forward.

“Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on tel 101citing incident no. 2258 of January 8.”
