Metro police have identified a couple found dead in an apparent suicide

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) has identified a married couple believed to be involved in Friday’s murder-suicide.

Police say detectives believe Eric Lebron Hale, 53, fatally shot his girlfriend, Cheron Sanders, 47, before shooting and committing suicide.

Officers were called to the 2900 block of Baby Ruth Lane just before 6 p.m. Friday after Sanders’ son found them dead.

The couple was found dead in bed.

The police also found a gun at the scene.

MNPD officers believe they both died earlier in the day on Friday.

Family members found the couple dead with gunshot wounds in their bed.

In March 2024, Hale was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after Sanders called police to the apartment and reported Hale was pulling her hair and holding a knife to her neck, police said.

The charge was dismissed in July 2024, according to police.
