Five people were seriously injured after a collision between three cars and a lorry on the A94

Five people have been seriously injured following a four-vehicle collision on the A94 in Perth and Kinross.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the Perth to Forfar road near Balbeggie at around 3.20pm on Friday afternoon.

The accident involved a Mercedes Vito V220, an Audi A3, a BMW X3 and a DAF truck.

The 53-year-old male driver of the Audi, a 51-year-old female Audi passenger and three Mercedes Vito passengers, aged 28, 52 and 57, were taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment for serious injuries.

There were no other reports of any injuries.

The road was closed for the investigation and reopened around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

Sergeant Brian McEwen said: “Our investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash and who has not yet spoken to officers to contact us.

“I am also appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage that could help contact us.”
