A driver involved in a crash on the Preston Motorway suffered a medical emergency

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A woman involved in a collision yesterday morning has died, but authorities believe she became ill before the vehicle crashed.

According to Louisville Metro Police, the collision occurred around 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30. LMPD’s Traffic Division says an adult female was in a car that was leaving the Gene Snyder Freeway onto Preston Highway when she suffered a possible medical injury. emergency.

Officers say the car and its disabled driver entered the Preston Highway intersection and collided with several road signs, before crossing the concrete median and hitting a vehicle stopped at a red light.

The woman was taken by emergency medical services to UofL Hospital. Her injuries were described as “critical and life-threatening.” She died in hospital around 3:25 p.m. Her name has not been revealed yet.

The man driving the vehicle that was struck during the collision was taken to UofL Health-South Hospital in Brooks with minor injuries.
