Punjabi man ties cats to attack dogs for Instagram Reels, arrested after public outcry

In an alarming case of animal cruelty from Jalandhar, Punjab, a man identified as Mandeep was arrested for repeatedly abusing animals and sharing graphic videos of his activities on social media. Videos posted on Instagram showed shocking scenes, including provoking dogs to attack deliberately restrained cats, as well as other acts of inhumane treatment.

Mandeep’s social media account was filled with disturbing posts glorifying animal cruelty. In one particularly shocking video, he can be seen pulling hard on the leash of a frightened dog as it struggles to free itself. These posts sparked outrage on social media, with users condemning his brutal actions and demanding justice for the abused animals.

Taking quick action, a concerned citizen named Yuvi, in collaboration with the Animal Protection Foundation, reported Mandeep’s activities to the police. The authorities immediately registered an FIR against him and arrested him. One dog was rescued during the operation, and efforts are underway to find and save other animals featured in his films.

Mumbai Police officer and renowned animal activist Sudhir Kudalkar shared an update on the case on social media. On X Kudalkar wrote, “FIR HAS BEEN REGISTERED AGAINST MANDEEP (PUNJAB). Accused arrested and one dog rescued by YUVI. Accused: (@mandee5103) Hero: Yuvi @ Animal Welfare Foundation who not only filed proper FIR but also saved the dogs. Efforts are underway to locate the animals shown on the accused’s Instagram.”

He then appealed to the public, saying: “I am calling on everyone to report his account and have it suspended for posting cruel content. Special mention to Aditya Saran (@adt.saran) who played a key role in saving these dogs. Animals deserve kindness and safety, not abuse. We must stand up to cruelty.”
