Police say two women and two children were attacked on Friday (NPAS)

Police said a man was charged with assault after two women and two children suffered “serious” injuries.

Devon and Cornwall Police said they received a report of an assault on a woman at a property on Foliot Road, Plympton, at around 5pm.

They were then told that a second woman and two children had been attacked on the Crossway and believed the incidents were related.

Brandon Wyatt, 21, of Pasley Street, Plymouth, has been charged with a number of offenses including aggravated burglary, wounding, grievous bodily harm and actual bodily harm.

A police spokesman said: “All four people have been hospitalized.

“Their injuries were described as serious but not life-threatening.”

They said police deployed “numerous” units, including a helicopter, before arresting Wyatt on Derriford Road.

He is due to appear in court in Plymouth on January 13.

Detectives said the incident was isolated and there was no immediate threat to the public.
