5 people killed, 17 injured after bus lost control and overturned in Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand

Five people were killed and around 17 injured after a bus overturned and fell 100 meters down a hill in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand state on Sunday.

The injured were taken to a nearby hospital, where they received help.

After receiving information about the accident, Pauri Garwhal district officials, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and police teams rushed to the spot as per the instructions of Arpan Yadav, Commander, SDRF.

Meanwhile, local people also reached the spot and helped the injured.

Authorities said a bus with 22 people on board met with an accident on the route from Pauri to Dahalchori.

Pauri police and locals carried out a rescue operation at the spot, as a result of which a total of 18 injured people were taken to hospital and 4 people died on the spot. One of the injured died in hospital during treatment.

The dead body was also shifted to the hospital for necessary action.
