An e-rickshaw driver died in an accident in Delhi’s Dwarka district. The police begin the hunt for the “white car” | Latest Delhi News

The victim was identified as 64-year-old Indrajit Malik of Vishwas Park in Uttam Nagar.

According to police, a 64-year-old e-rickshaw driver died after being hit in Delhi’s Dwarka area on Sunday.

The victim was identified as Indrajit Malik, a resident of Vishwas Park area, a police official said.

“At 8.56 am, we received a call regarding an accident that took place near Vishwas Park in Uttam Nagar. An eyewitness at the scene informed us that the perpetrator of the crime was a white car which fled immediately after the collision,” an official told news agency PTI.

He further stated that after reviewing road surveillance footage from the area, Hyundai Creta and Tata Punch were identified as possible suspects.

The officer noted that a team from Dwarka South Police Station had been deployed to search for the offending vehicle and arrest the driver responsible for the hit-and-run.

One person died in an accident in the Safdarjung Enclave

Early on Saturday morning, a 28-year-old man from Hisar in Haryana was killed after his multi-purpose vehicle was hit by a luxury sedan that jumped the median on the wrong side and hit him head-on on the Ring Road in Safdarjung Enclave in the national capital.

Police arrested a 24-year-old resident of Paschim Vihar in Delhi in connection with the accident. According to police, the man was returning home from a club and after the collision, he went to west Delhi, then to Noida and then to Safdarjung Enclave, from where he was arrested.

The victim, who succumbed to his injuries at the AIIMS Trauma Center, worked as a transporter, he added.

The victim’s Ertiga and the accused’s Audi had Haryana registration numbers, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West) Surendra Choudhary told the media.
