Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was not at practice for the second straight day Thursday in Owings Mills, but he was in the building.

Jackson was in the locker room after practice talking to teammates and seemed to be in good spirits. However, he failed to talk to journalists.

On Wednesday, coach John Harbaugh said Jackson was given the day off from afternoon practice. However, he later appeared on Baltimore’s injury report with back and knee injuries.

Time will tell if he will be available for Sunday’s game at M&T Bank Stadium against the Denver Broncos, but his performance is a good sign.

“It is what it is,” offensive coordinator Todd Monken said Thursday when asked about preparing for Denver without the two-time NFL Most Valuable Player over the past two days. “Like any other position, you go to work and the guys still have to function around it. What are the conversations, the conversations are in advance. There are still guys who need to perform at a high level, regardless of who is in position.

Given Denver’s solid defense, the Ravens (5-3) will likely need Jackson. The Broncos (5-3) rank first in yards per game (4.4), third in yards per game (282.6) and points allowed per game (15), first in yards per pass ( 5.9) and fifth in yards per rush (5.9). 4).

CROSSES: Jared Goff was named NFC Offensive Player of the Month, becoming the third player in franchise history to receive the honor – wide receiver Calvin Johnson did it twice (2012 and 2013) and point guard Barry Sanders did it four times (1989, 1991, 1994 and 1997 ).

The Lions played three games in October, posting a 3-0 record, and Goff completed 80% of his passes for 680 yards, eight touchdowns and no interceptions. His passer rating of 149.8 is the highest ever posted by a QB in October in NFL history.
