A 15-year-old arrested after Sunday’s pursuit of leading MPs

MONROE, Mich. (WTVG) – A 15-year-old was arrested after allegedly leading officers on Sunday evening.

On January 12 around 8 p.m., officers attempted to stop a vehicle on E. Third Street, but the driver sped off. A short time later, the vehicle was located on Winchester Street and a pursuit began and continued northbound on I-75 from N. Dixie Hwy. The pursuit entered Frenchtown Township before returning to the town of Monroe.

MCSO says the driver, identified as a 15-year-old male, then pulled into a private driveway on Navarre Street and deputies arrested him. No one was injured in the chase.

The 15-year-old was booked into the Monroe County Youth Center and charged with running away and eluding police. His name is not being released at this time.

MCSO says there was also a 13-year-old passenger in the car who was released to family members.
