Driver (79) injured after car hit fence in Bukit Batok

SINGAPORE – On January 14, a 79-year-old man was injured after his car skidded and hit a fence near Bukit Batok West shopping mall.

Police and the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the accident at 11 Bukit Batok Street. towards Bukit Batok West Avenue 6 around 12:00.

Police believe the car skidded.

Photos shared on social media show a black sedan with a badly damaged hood near a fence that was moved by the impact.

The accident occurred in front of block 150, at the entrance to the shopping center parking lot.

Chinese newspaper Lianhe Zaobao reported that several passersby gathered at the scene. Some of them helped the elderly driver get out of the car.

SCDF said the driver was conscious when he was taken to University Hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
