Eagles fan who harassed woman in Viral Packers game video identified

After a video of a Philadelphia Eagles fan berating and harassing a Green Bay Packers fan during a recent Wild Card game hit the Internet, I am disgusted NFL fans demanded that the perpetrator be identified.

Now, apparently, their wish has come true.

Internet sleuths identified the Eagles fan as Ryan Caldwell, a New Jersey resident and business analyst at consulting firm BCT Partners.

As of this writing, Caldwell appears to have deleted his social media accounts, including LinkedIn; most likely, the Eagles fan is aware of the video’s virality and wants to weather the storm.

BCT Partners issued a statement about the incident, but did not name Cladwell.

The statement reads:

“BCT Partners management has been made aware of a video circulating of an employee making offensive remarks outside the workplace. BCT Partners condemns this type of behavior and we take this matter extremely seriously.”

“As an organization that has always championed inclusivity, her behavior was completely unacceptable and is in direct opposition to our company values.”

“We have already commenced a full investigation, which is an internal staffing matter, to determine what action will be taken. We sincerely apologize to anyone affected by this behavior and remain committed to supporting a culture of respect for all.”

BCT Partners describes itself as “a management consulting firm that helps organizations solve complex social problems. Our mission is to increase equity through our subject matter expertise in DEI, precision analytics, health equity, children and families, education, and economic and workforce development. “

Although the Eagles secured a 22-10 victory and advanced to the NFC divisional round, the victory was marred by a deeply disturbing confrontation in the stands.

The incident occurred when a Green Bay fan who was attending the game with her fiancé, Alexander Basara, was verbally abused by another Eagles fan.

Basara took to social media to expose the abuse, sharing a video showing the man – distinguished by his gray beard and Eagles jacket – mercilessly taunting his fiancée with offensive language. This person is reportedly identified as Caldwell.

At one point he called her a “nasty, stupid c***.” This prompted Basara to start recording, and the video quickly went viral, sparking widespread condemnation of the Eagles fan’s behavior.

ON TwitterBasara expressed his frustration: “What it’s like to go to Philadelphia and just try to root for your team… Unprovoked, inappropriate. This is not okay. I hate that my fiancée went through this just to support her team. who is this… a truly disgusting man.”

Witnesses said the harassment continued throughout the match, with Caldwell continuing his verbal attack despite the woman’s attempts to ignore him.

Many Eagles fans expressed shame, emphasizing that one person’s actions do not represent the entire fan base, and the episode cast a shadow on the team’s victory.

Despite the Packers’ struggles, including three interceptions by quarterback Jordan Love, the team stayed within reach for much of the game but ultimately lost.

But the focus of postgame discussion quickly shifted from the Eagles’ victory to disturbing interactions in the stands, leaving a stain on what should have been a celebration for Philadelphia.

The Eagles have not issued a statement regarding Caldwell’s actions or the incident, and the fan has not spoken publicly at the time of publication.
