Block leads Episcopal to victory over Kingsway

Rebecca Block scored to give Sydney Powell the win, and Episcopal Academy beat New Jersey’s Kingsway Regional 2-1 on Thursday.

Caroline Powell added an assist. Payton Smith knocked down 21 shots in the frame.

In the Inter-Ac League:

Agnes Irwin 8, Germantown Academy 2 >> Gabby Lee scored four goals and found time to add an assist during the Owls’ action on Wednesday.

Caroline Chisholm scored two goals and one assist. Kitt Neel scored a goal and had two assists. Lucy Page also had two helpers and Margo Chisholm scored for the Owls.

Girls’ volleyball

Abigail MacMillan had 16 kills and two blocks and Garnet Valley won a five-set match over Upper Merion 3-2 in the District 1, Class 3A third-place match.

Regan Hill added 15 kills and two blocks. Isabella Tront provided a calming presence at the net with seven kills and one block. Janani Muniswamy had 36 assists. The Jaguars won with scores of 21-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-20, 15-7.

In the PAISAA tournament:

Perkiomen School 3, Agnes Irwin 1 >> Freshman Leah Ojakovo recorded 11 kills, nine blocks and two aces, but the Owls lost in the quarterfinals 21-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-15.

Priya Johnson had 24 assists, four blocks and two kills.

Girls soccer

Dylan Ohm’s hat trick led Agnes Irwin to a 10-2 victory over Germantown Academy on Wednesday, giving the Owls (15-4, 8-3 Inter-Ac) a season-high 97 goals.

Carly Barnes scored a goal and had two assists. Lyla Sauers, Brynn Kozloff and Olivia Rife each had a goal and an assist.
