According to the report, the incident took place in Palakkodu village in Dharamapuri.

The report mentioned that the school – which has about 150 students from Years 1 to 8 – was under investigation after photos and videos of girls in school uniforms cleaning toilets with brooms appeared online.

The the photos caused outrage among parents and residentswho protested outside the school and demanded an investigation.

Some parents of students even filed a formal complaint with the school education department after seeing the viral videos and photos. They even accused the principal of regularly assigning children tasks such as cleaning toilets, fetching water and sweeping the grounds.

Angry villagers demanded strict action against the principal and the wanted students should not be burdened with such responsibilities in the educational environment.

Following the incident, the Dharmapuri district chief education officer (CEO) initiated an investigation and later confirmed the suspension of the school principal and announced a formal inquiry.

Jharkhand case:

The report mentioned that the incident took place on Thursday during the ceremonial ‘Pen Day’ and the principal was reportedly angered by the ceremony marking the students’ final exam day.

As part of the celebrations, which were attended by about 100 students, students wrote wishes to each other on T-shirts.

The report added that the principal reportedly objected to the activity, scolded the students, told them to take off their shirts and forbade them from wearing them again. According to reports, the principal only allowed the students to wear jackets and he was sent home in this condition.

After returning home, many students shared their experiences with their parents.
