All the biggest revelations from Tom Cruise to Sugeries

All the biggest revelations from Tom Cruise to Sugeries

Brooke Shields She didn’t hide anything in her new memoir, just as the title suggests: Brooke Shields must not age.

The actress and model (59) touched on all aspects of her life – from aging to sex, marriage and children. She spoke candidly about a painful miscarriage that was likely the result of a surgery she didn’t consent to, and opened up about what her sex life is like with her husband, Chris Henchy, as she approaches the age of 60.

The book, which was released on January 14, has been in the works since Shields began working on her Commence hair care brand.

What started as a platform for women over 40 quickly evolved into a brand tailored to them. Shields’ agents in progress encouraged her to tell her own story for this community.

“So the book became an exploration of conversations with women over 40, looking at marketing, the beauty industry, how we are treated and perceived by advertisers – not just in entertainment, but in everyday life. I was shocked by how little representation we had,” Shields shared on Flow Space of an evening with Brooke Shields on January 13 in New York City.

Ahead are some of the biggest bombshells from Shields’ memoirs. Brooke Shields must not age is now available wherever books are sold.

Tom Cruise has finally apologized for calling out her use of antidepressants

In 2005 during Today During his appearance, Tom Cruise criticized Shields for openly discussing her use of antidepressants while treating postpartum depression. He then stated that he was behaving “irresponsibly” because these drugs “won’t cure anything.”

Just a few days later, Shields published an article in New York Times titled “War of Words,” distancing himself from his tirade. “I should point out that my publicist at the time told me not to dignify his comments with a response,” she wrote in her book. “I stood up for myself and suffering women against the irrational and dangerous comments of an uneducated actor who spoke far beyond the limits of his abilities.” Shields added that she “fired that publicist.”

In the wake of the situation, Cruise actually apologized to Shields, she wrote in her book. “He came to my house and apologized,” she wrote. “It wasn’t the best apology in the world, but it was the best he could afford.”

When Shields was around 30 years old, she had an irregular smear test. For this reason, she underwent a coneal biopsy to see if there were any abnormal cells in her cervical tissue. Doctors did find CIN III cells, which she wrote likely turned into cancer. However, she stated that by removing these cells and this tissue, they “virtually removed” the entire cervix.

This made it difficult for her to get pregnant. Her first round of IVF was successful, but three months later she had a miscarriage.

“What followed was probably the worst twelve hours of my life,” she wrote. ” the miscarriage was so sudden and excruciatingly painful that when it came time for my second IVF attempt, I actually asked my doctor, “Do you think it hurt so much because of the stretching of the scar tissue?” Is it possible?”

Shields eventually learned that the likely cause of her difficulty conceiving and the pain of the miscarriage was a cone biopsy.

She once took advantage of a “bonus” rejuvenation of her labia without her consent

Years after the cone biopsy and difficult conception, her gynecologist asked her if she had ever experienced “discomfort” from her labia. She told the doctor that she had actually experienced discomfort from an early age, but it was only later that she learned that it could be cured by a “cosmetic” procedure.

She went to a male doctor for labia reduction surgery, but when she came out, she was informed that she had received more than she agreed to.

“Everything is looser after two kids,” he said. He acted like he was doing me a favor and I should actually be grateful. There was a real “I threw it in for free, little lady” vibe when it was delivered. But I never asked for “tightening” or “rejuvenation” (translation: getting a younger vagina). It wasn’t something I wanted. I felt numb,” wrote Father the doctor performed the rejuvenation of the labia without her consent.

Shields is “glad” she never got pregnant by Andre Agassi

Shields, who is mother to daughters Rowan, 21, and Grier, 18, with husband Chris Henchy, was first married to tennis star Andre Agassi from 1997 to 1999. In her book, she revealed that she was “glad” the two never had children during their short relationship.

“I’m glad I never got pregnant with my first husband because that would have been a disaster,” she wrote. “When we divorced, he made that very clear. “Be thankful we didn’t have children,” he said, “because I wouldn’t have made it easy for you.” Well, thank you for this tidbit, I thought.

The model admitted in her book that she had experienced bouts of insecurity about her body throughout her life. Although she had worked as a model all her life, she was specifically told that she was “not runway material” because she was not “thin enough”.

She said that during her marriage to Agassi, she often expressed her frustrations to him. She said he would tell her, “I wish you could see yourself the way I see you.” Given this, Shields said she would ask him if he would still love her if she were “big and fat,” that is, if she got pregnant.

Now she can admit that her question was unfair, but she wrote that his answer was not what she “expected.”

“I love you too much to let you get bigger and fat.”

She continued in the book: “I definitely wasn’t expecting this and I must admit I started to squirm a little. But we all know how this relationship turned out, so let’s move on.”

Shields needs her “lotions and potions” to “fully enjoy” sex

She said that as Shields got older, she noticed her sex drive decreasing. Although she had a “fervent sex drive” when she was young, that is not the case now. In fact, as she wrote in her book, sex is now uncomfortable most of the time, and she often pretends to sleep when her husband is “in the mood.”

She attributed it to lip surgery she had had many years ago on “Doctor Malpractice.” So that “she could fully enjoy sex at this moment,” she wrote: needs “balms and potions” as well as appropriate sleepwear, a special pillow and “maybe some tequila to relax.”

“The doctor told me I should start taking testosterone – sure you can get a few more whiskers, but that’s what tweezers are for – but I haven’t gotten there yet,” she wrote. “For now, I’m counting on the old approach: the more of it you have, the more you will enjoy it.”
