Person injured in SDSU shooting, one person arrested

One person was injured in a shooting that occurred Thursday evening at San Diego State University. They were taken to a local hospital, – said the university.

San Diego Police Capt. Adam Sharki said a person was detained and a gun was seized in connection with the shooting.

Evening activities, events and activities have been canceled for the rest of the evening, – said the university.

Sharki said this appears to be an isolated incident.

“Again, this appears to be an isolated incident and not any active shooter,” Sharki said.

SDSU also notified students and staff that a second person had been arrested, but police did not confirm that information.

The police are looking for potential suspects and victims. Anyone with more information is asked to call 911 or police.

The people involved are not affiliated with SDSU, in accordance with campus communications.
