CHP, Bakersfield Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash on the Westside Parkway

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — CHP and Bakersfield police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash on Halloween night on the Westside Parkway, according to the CHP website. It happened around 6:40 p.m

CHP reported a body in the middle of the road just east of Allen Road. Three westbound lanes are closed. Traffic will be diverted to Calloway Drive.

A CHP officer told our Eyewitness News crew that a skateboarder was hit.

The Kern County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the pedestrian at a later date.

Law enforcement is investigating.
