An overnight crash occurred in West Seattle and an investigation is underway

A 31-year-old man is dead following a crash on Wednesday evening in Seattle’s West Side, according to Seattle police.

Police said shortly after 10 p.m., officers responded to a report of an accident involving a car that had collided with a parked vehicle at 6300 48th Avenue SW.

Seattle police and fire medics arrived shortly afterward and found a 31-year-old man “unresponsive in his vehicle.”

“The man was extricated from the vehicle and medics treated him,” Seattle police wrote in a news release. – Despite rescue efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said officers then cordoned off the area so detectives from the Traffic Crime Investigation Unit carried out an investigation.

Police said a 31-year-old man was driving a Volvo and collided with a parked Ford SUV.

“This is an open and ongoing investigation and detectives will be working to determine what led to the collision,” Seattle police wrote.
